Description:
As a university of excellence with more than 43,000 students and around 6,000 employees, the University of Hamburg (hereinafter "UHH") is one of the strongest research universities in Germany and at the same time one of the largest training institutions in northern Germany.
The construction project "Haus der Erde" (hereinafter "HdE") at Bundesstrasse 55 in Hamburg includes the construction of a research and teaching building for the geosciences and climate research departments at the UHH. The new building with a usable area of around 22,000 m2 is intended for various institutes and administrative units bring together at a central location. These include a total of seven institutes in the Department of Earth System Sciences as well as other institutions such as the Research Center for Sustainable Environmental Development (FNU), the Center for Natural Science and Peace Research (ZNF) and the Institute for Hydrobiology and Fisheries Science (IHF).
