Description:
The aim is to obtain replacements for the existing input routers with pre-configuration. The routers currently in use (Cisco C6816-X-LE) have EOSS as of October 31, 2025. This also means that the use of new security updates is no longer possible and discovered security gaps are no longer possible can be closed. The procurement also serves to increase the bandwidth on the Merseburg University campus. In order to ensure operational continuity and to avoid incompatibilities, only successor products to the above-mentioned device are permitted. This results from that the technical integration of the existing system, including network management (specially developed scripts and databases) and the interfaces to other systems, creates a great deal of complexity in the technical implementation of this project.
