- Lot 1: Fermentation technology Lot 2: conveyor technology Lot 3: digestate storage container The waste disposal company Westmünsterland mbH (EGW) is planning the fundamental modernization and expansion of the existing mechanical-biological facility at the Gescher site Waste treatment plant (MBA) into a state-of-the-art full-flow organic waste fermentation plant. For this purpose, fermentation technology on the one hand and gas processing on the other should be commissioned in independent procurement procedures. subject of this procedure is the fermentation technology (lot 1). In addition, the conveyor technology (lot 2) and digestate storage containers (lot 3) will be awarded. The aim of the entire project is to reduce the annual production of around 105,000 tonnes of organic waste from the Borken district and neighboring areas regions not only into high-quality compost, but above all into biogas and thus into renewable energy. By switching to the full-flow fermentation process, the energetic potential of organic waste is optimally exploited. The The biogas produced will be processed into biomethane in a new gas processing plant and then fed into the public natural gas network.
