The Regionaltangente West (RTW) is a new tangential rail connection in the Rhine-Main area to improve local public rail transport in the Frankfurt am Main metropolitan area. It primarily servesBetter connection of the western districts of the city of Frankfurt am Main and the surrounding districts, cities and communities with one another and with each other, as well as better connections to Frankfurt Airport. The project is included in the planning approval sections PFA North I and II, PFA Central, so onlike the PFA South I and II. The project is in the planning phase in the PFA North II, PFA Central and South II sections. There is building law in PfA Nord and the construction phase will begin in 2024.
