Local geographic information system (GIS) for the city of Troisdorf
A geographical information system has been in use in the Troisdorf city administration for over 25 years. The municipal geodata infrastructure currently includes an internal desktop GIS that builds on the IBR software,Various interfaces to other internal specialist applications, a mobile workplace (offline field calculator), as well as a web-based geoportal as a system of information for the citizens, which was implemented with the open source software. The municipal geodata, the employees in 13Fachshells and 17 thematic cards are entered and edited in a postgreesql database instance. As part of this tender, the internal GIS of the city administration is to be replaced by a new system. The geoportal remains unaffected by the tender.
