Description:
The Maritime Security Center (MSZ) in Cuxhaven is a communication and cooperation network of forces of the federal and coastal countries for maritime security. The joint establishment of the federal and the five coastal countries (Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony and Schleswig Holstein) consists of:
the Federal Police,
the customs,
The Federal Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition (BLE),
The Waterway and Shipping Administration of the Confederation (WSV),
the German Navy,
The water protection policies of the five coastal countries (WSP) and
the Havarie Command.
In the interest of national and international shipping, safety before the German coast, as well as an effective and efficient task permit, the technical skills, the partner represented in the network, are bundled in the Joint Lake Center Lake (GLZ-SEE). The GLZ SEE forms the operative core of the MSZ and is a powerful organization for sea room monitoring, to improve the risk defense and accident management.
