• In order to strengthen social awareness of biological diversity and to promote concrete behavioral changes, nature conservation communication that is appropriate to the target group, timely and effective is of crucial importance. The transdisciplinary one Exchange in the field of nature conservation communication has already been taken up by a BfN expert discussion in 2023 and an NBS dialogue forum in 2024, in which, among other things, biodiversity-relevant narratives, everyday and emotional communication approaches as well as the potential digital formats have been discussed. However, there is a lack of bundling and practical preparation and communication of the previous recommendations and findings so that all actors have access to concrete communication aids for effective communication Nature conservation communications can be accessed. The planned project addresses this need and makes a direct contribution to implementing the measures of the first action plan of the new National Strategy for Biological Diversity (NBS 2030) in the area Communication (5.1.4 and 5.1.5). Within the framework of participatory formats, existing findings on target group-oriented, contemporary and effective nature conservation communication are discussed and, based on this, new innovative communication strategies for Nature conservation developed and tested. The potential and risks of digital formats and applications (such as AI) are also taken into account. The insights and concrete recommendations gained in this way are then presented in an easily accessible and prepared in a practical form (especially digitally) and conveyed through suitable exchange and training formats in order to support youth, education and nature conservation actors in their practical communication work.
