- Due to the increasing number of students and increased demand for comprehensive school places in the Essen city area, the city of Essen is planning to establish and build a new 6-class comprehensive school as well as a triple sports hall, two single sports halls and ancillary facilities on Erbsloehstrasse in the district Altenessen-South. For the heating and cooling technology sector, geothermal energy (geothermal probes) from the ground is fed into the supply system via two water-water heat pumps. An air-water heat pump and a small electric boiler are also used. The cold supply takes place passively via the earth probe field in order to regenerate it. The water-water heat pumps have a heating output of approx. 420 and 120 kW, the air-water heat pump has a heating output of approx. 140 kW. The additional electric boiler has an output of approx. 24 kW. The space heating surfaces are predominantly created by underfloor heating. Ventilation devices with heaters are also provided. In refrigeration technology, split air conditioning systems are provided for various technical rooms to dissipate the internal loads. The construction project will be certified according to BNB and QNG requirements.
