- The Rheinstrasse bridge was built from 1910 to 1912 and has been in a very poor structural condition after over 100 years. A fundamental repair has not yet taken place. The overall condition is also insufficient after the results of the building testsdesignate. The state grade is currently 3.9. For this reason, the Rheinstrasse bridge must be replaced with a new building. The overall measure "New Rheinstrassenbruecke Darmstadt" includes the demolition of the existing building and the replacement new building of the Rheinstrasse Bruecke, including theConnection nodes (road construction) over a length of approx. 270m.
