Description:
In the sponsorship of the Archdiocese of Hamburg, a total of 15 schools are operated by the Hamburg city area and are currently being developed as part of the school development plan. At the location of the Catholic Sophios School in Hamburg Barmbek-Sued, Elsastrasse 46, after the demolition of the Disposing existing school building rebuilt a school building by the end of 2025. The three -storey building with partial basement complements the listed ensemble from the Catholic Church of Sankt Sophien and the Dominican monastery of St. John.

The daycare center is integrated into the ground floor of the new building Sankt Sophien with 4 groups and approx. 80 children. The part of the ground floor, which is used schoolically, is opened up by the schoolyard, which is located centrally between the church and the school, via a spacious foyer with an open staircase and via another staircase with an elevator. On the ground floor are the cafeteria with kitchen area and the auditorium. A single-field sports hall, changing rooms as well as storage and technology rooms are in the basement.
