Description:
The client, the city of Homberg (Efze) (AG), is planning to build a new day-care center (kiTa for short) in the Wernswig district. The existing day-care center on the premises of the Matthias-Claudius-School elementary school will not receive an operating permit in the long term. The urban KiTa developmentconcept envisages the construction of a 3-group day-care center in Wernswig. The location decision was made in 2019. The Rohde property on Bahnhofsallee, a former agricultural farmstead, was acquired for the project. The plot is in the northern area voll equipped with agricultural buildings and in the front area there is a cultural monument from 1711 as a residential building. First of all, the existing, dilapidated and no longer needed buildings are to be demolished in order to get some air on the property. The existingResidential house, as a cultural monument, is to be used for administration and ancillary rooms. The technology and management of the kindergarten can be accommodated entirely in this building. Opposite, the existing barn on Bahnhofsallee is being dismantled and a one-storey structure is to be built earise. This building is to be seen as a purely functional building and is intended to enable covered parking from the Bahnhofsallee and be used as a covered play area from the courtyard side.
