New development groundwater database Hessen
The development of the current specialist application "groundwater database Hessen (Gruwah) "including user interfaces began in the 1990s. The administration of this specialist application lies with the Hessian State Office for Nature conservation, environment and geology (HLNUG). According to the Water Household Act (WHG) § 100, paragraph 1, monitoring the waters (including the groundwater) is a task of water supervision. In the Hessian Water Act (HWG), the water supervision and responsibilities are regulated. According to § 67 paragraph 1 Sentence 2 (HWG), HLNUG is obliged to record, evaluate and publish the quantitative and qualitative data required for water protection. HLNUG operates the Gruwah for storing, management and evaluation of data collected across Hesse in the area Foundation water and groundwater quality. The continuously increasing need for data provisions through amendments to laws, rules and regulations has led to successive adjustments since taking into account in 1997.
The Gruwah in its current form consists of an Oracle database structure (Gruwah-DB) and a user application (Gruwah application, GRUWAH for short) for saving and managing building master data in the area of ground water, for the recording of hydrogeological and hydrochemical data of the groundwater and the creation of measuring campaigns for the groundwater sample.
