Description:
The state of the floodplains is largely shaped in Germany by uses of different types and the management of the waters (see external status report 2021). In many cases, your natural functions and ecosystem services are affected. In 2015 the BFN with the Brochure "Waters and Auen - Benefit for Society" already presented the diverse benefits of floodplain. In recent years, the data bases and methods for quantification and evaluation of the ecosystem services of rivers and floodplains have been continuously winding and Gained new experiences and ideas when using the OeSL concept. With the new edition of the brochure, taking into account current scientific findings, the diverse benefit and the synergies, which are from the implementation of auo -renaturation or location. Forms of management result, generally understandable and presented to the public. In addition, practical and successful examples are to be compiled that show how the OeSL concept can be used, for example, in order to be transparent and to develop integrative solutions for sustainable management of river/floodplain landscapes.
