Description:
New Lahnsteg over the Lahn in Lahnstein - bridge and cycle path Lahnstein will be one of the main venues for the 2029 Federal Garden Show. In order to open up the BUGA exhibition areas in Ober- and Niederlahnstein, a new footpath is to be built at the mouth of the Lahn. and cycle path bridge will be built. It is one of the most important projects for the success of the BUGA in Lahnstein. The new Lahn crossing closes the gap, which, according to the Federal Garden Show, is the shortest connection between the two districts for the represents everyday cycling traffic and, on the other hand, creates a continuous cycle path connection on Euroveloroute 15 with a connection to the German Unity cycle route (D-Route) in the direction of Koblenz and Bad Ems. The intended use of the new Lahnsteg is limited applies exclusively to pedestrians and cyclists. The access route via the harbor pier should also be accessible to motor vehicles for maintenance of the banks of the Rhine and for the provision of future berths for Rhine shipping.
