• Description:
• After the electrification of the southern railway Ulm - Friedrichshafen - Lindau and the electrification of the Hochrheinbahn between Basel and Erzingen, which is currently under construction, the expansion and electrification of the two sections of the Lake Constance Belt Railway between Radolfzell and Stahringen, as well as Stahringen and Friedrichshafen will be implemented to close the gap in the southern west-east rail axis in Baden-Württemberg. With the planned regional expansion of offerings, the... supra-regional relations as well as cross-border connections in/from Switzerland and Austria have achieved a significant increase in the attractiveness of local rail passenger transport (SPNV). The current two-hourly cycle of the connecting RE should be increased hourly, and the regional train frequency between Radolfzell and Friedrichshafen is to be increased from the current hourly to half-hourly. The main infrastructural measures of the project include the electrification of the entire route (approx. 100 km) with the associated traction power supply systems, a sectional double-track expansion (approx. 26 km) and the associated measures on the existing infrastructure (adjustment of track position, bridges, tunnels, level crossings, etc.), the renewal of the control and safety technology, the barrier-free expansion of the 14 existing transport stations, the extension of the platforms to a uniform 155 m and their increase to 55 cm above rails...
