Description:
At this time we will inform you about the general renovation project for the high-performance network (GSH) of the Munich-Rosenheim (route no. 5510) and Rosenheim-Salzburg (route no. 5703) routes in 2027.
By 2030, the railway wants to comprehensively renovate around 40 busy high-performance corridors, including herben in Bavaria. The aim is to completely renew busy routes that are in need of renovation within the shortest possible period of time.
The Munich-Rosenheim section will be completed in the first half of the year and Rosenheim-Salzburg (main route 5510 from Waldtrudering to Rosenheim) in the second halfThe route from Rosenheim-Salzburg (main line 5703 from Rosenheim to Freilassing) was renovated in the first half of the year. By general renovation we mean a bundled renewal of all trades over several months: from tracks and switches to overhead lines, signaling technology, bridges and railway crossingsEverything up to the stations and platforms will be completely overhauled and brought up to date.
Both routes form an important part of the European SCAN-MED transport axis. Many freight trains between Northern Europe and Southern Europe, long-distance trains between Germany and Austriaas various local transport lines operate on the route. As a result of this heavy use, there is a great need for renovation.
