Description: The post area in Böblingen is located at a key point between the train station and the pedestrian zone. At this striking entrance to the Lower Town of Böblingen, the property is intended to play a central role in upgrading the city center of Böblingen. Currently the area is used exclusively for commercial purposes. With the IBA'27, the Böblinger Baugesellschaft (BBG) wants to develop a high-density urban building block with a wide range of uses in exchange with the urban community. An open, international competition will sound out architectural possibilities. This is followed by a dialogue phase from which planning principles for further planning should emerge. The citizens are actively involved in the development of the postal area.
