Description:
The nutrient pollution of groundwater and surface water in Schleswig-Holstein is still too high despite the measures taken so far. The diffuse nutrient inputs from agriculture are the main cause of the existing water pollution and a major reason for itthat the goals and requirements of the EC Water Framework Directive are not met.
Agricultural production in accordance with the guidelines of the EU Organic Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2018/848) leads to livestock being tied to the agricultural area and the lack of mineIt has been proven that ralic nitrogen fertilizers lead to low nitrogen balances, with which the goals of the Water Framework Directive can be achieved.
Furthermore, not using chemical-synthetic pesticides relieves the environmental media water, soil and air, wild plants and animalsand the agricultural products produced from potentially harmful substances.
