Description: In February 2019, the municipal council of Offenburg decided the spatial restructuring of the school landscape in the Oststadt and in Zell-Weierbach: The Erich-Kästner-Realschule should move to Zell-Weierbach and use existing area resources there. According to School Management Guidelines BW and taking into account the extended pedagogical requirements for schools (support / full day, inclusion, etc.) in elementary schools and in further schools, comprehensive adaptive adjustment requirements arise at the location.
Currently, the school location consists of 2 existing buildings in the south and east as well as a three-field hall in the west. Originally there was a basic and a Werkrealschule located there. In 2018, the closure of the Werkrealschule, whereby today vacant areas are used by the Weingarten elementary school and in the future as well as the relocation of the Erich-Kästner-Real School.
