• The former barracks site Barker Barracks, with its approximately 52 hectares, is considered the largest vacant inner-city conversion area in the city of Paderborn. After the British military released it in November 2019, the area was returned to the BImA and was acquired by the city of Paderborn in July 2024. The Paderborn city administration is therefore faced with the major task of developing the area that was formerly used for military purposes into an urban district. The future quarter is located just under 2km east of the historic city center of Paderborn. The former barracks is located like an island in the city area and is bordered to the south by Driburger Straße, to the west by Berliner Ring and to the north by Piepenturmweg.
