Description:
1. In the "Structural Strengthening Act Kohleregions" (STStG), the "Foundation of a new institutionally required large research center according to Helmholtz or comparable conditions in the Saxon Lausitz and in the Central German territory based on a competitive procedure". The BUND and the Free State of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt strengthen the science and innovation location of Germany and contribute to the fact that the two areas can develop into attractive future regions.
For this purpose, the guideline for funding was From projects as part of the initiative "Knowledge creates perspectives for the region!" published. According to this, applicants were called to submit their project sketches by April 30, 2021 at the latest. Six of the submitted sketches were selected and asked for further qualifications. As a result, assessable concepts were created, which were evaluated by a selection commission.
