  • Section 57b of the Atomic Energy Act (AtG) stipulates that the Asse II mine must be shut down immediately. Before decommissioning, the stored radioactive waste should be retrieved.
    There is no empirical data for the complex and demanding "repatriation" project, it is so far unique worldwide. Due to the given hydrogeological (solution access), rock mechanics (lack of stability) and radiation protection technical boundary conditions (handling of open radioactivity), special challenges must be overcome in order to retrieve the radioactive waste to be able to carry out successfully and safely.
    The subject of this tender is the provision of planning and engineering services for the planning of the excavation of the conventional part of the reclaim mine as well as all underground, structural and technical services required for this Mine facilities.
