Description:
The Hanseatic city of Havelberg runs the elementary school and the after -school care center "Am Eichenwald". The primary school location on Pestalozzistrasse consists of three parts of the building of different builders. The school has existed in its current form since 1992. Around 180 children are currently being taught and looked after in the after -school care center. The spatial situation is tense: there are structural defects (including statics, fire protection and accessibility), space problems and a double occupancy of rooms. A first renovation concept was already developed in 2017. Due to the lack of financing, however, the project had to to be paused. In the meantime, the measure has been fundamentally confirmed as part of the urban development subsidy and funding has been promised. On the basis of an updated space program, three variants for the further development of the location were checked. The city council decided to continue in October 2024 of the project with a cost framework of EUR 12 million. The aim is to develop a future -proof, functional and energetically sustainable planning concept as part of the available budget. The result is intended to provide a sustainable implementation strategy that both the requirements of the spatial program as well as the long -term development of the school location or educational campus.
