- Westholsteinwärme GmbH currently operates the four listed below Decentralized local heating networks in BrunsbĂźttel: CityNetz, leisure pool and hotel âRiverLoftâ, local heating network âSchleswag areaâ, local heating network outdoor pool / Boy Lornsen School. In the present measure Large parts of BrunsbĂźttel are to be developed with district heating and the aforementioned island networks are to be integrated. In addition to the large-scale expansion of the heating network, the aim of the measure is also to centralize heat generation and to maximize it Minimizing the CO2 share. In addition to the optimization and integration of process waste heat from the Sasol refinery with 1.6 MWth, the reduction of the CO2 share is achieved through the use of heat pumps with electricity and industrial wastewater as primary energy sources with 6 MWth and the Extraction of heat from steam from a biomass power plant with 3 MWth guaranteed. In the first expansion stage, 10 MWth generation capacity will be installed. Except for the process waste heat from the refinery and the extraction from the cooling water drain, all of them are New systems to be built for heat production and distribution in a shared energy center on Ostermoorer StraĂe, south of the refinery's tank farm. The process waste heat is extracted in Justus-Liebig-StraĂe west of the The refinery's tank farm in an outsourced building.
