The listed primary school "Waldschule Geesthacht" (built in 1953) is located in the forest in the Gruenhof-Tesperhude district in the middle of a forest area in the immediate vicinity of the Elbe in the Duchy of Lauenburg district. Access takes place via Otto-Hahn-Strasse one road closed to traffic. The forest school currently has rooms for two-stage teaching: there will be eight classrooms, a support room, rooms for art and craft lessons, an auditorium with a stage primarily for music lessons, a relaxation room with the school library, all-day rooms, and other school rooms used. The updated school development plan already shows an additional moderate increase in the number of students at the forest school. The actual registration numbers are higher than this forecast and indicate a resulting increased need Rooms for lessons, DaZ lessons (German as a second language) and all-day care. The mandatory requirement in Schleswig-Holstein for all-day care from summer 2026 and the associated mandatory food provision require an expansion of the space available. The Existing building...
