- A new school center for a high school and a comprehensive school is to be built in the Solingen-Wald district. On the property of the previous school center of the same name, the existing school building from the 1970s is gradually demolished and replaced by a modern new building. The overall measure is divided into up to four construction phases, each of which is considered separately and subjected to your own award procedure. The first construction phase only includes the construction of the learning building 8 for upper secondary level II of the two schools and represents the construction of the entire project. This section is the subject of this award procedure. The construction of the learning building 8 is built in a sustainable wood-hybrid construction and corresponds to the KfW 40 standard for energy efficiency. The load-bearing structure consists of concrete supports and wood-concrete composite ceilings. On the roofs are intended for room air -technical systems and a maximum occupancy with photovoltaic systems. The exterior facades are designed as a suggested wood construction, and the glass facades are provided with external sun protection suspensions and also protected by cantilevered escape balcony. The execution of the first construction phase should begin in 2026 and be completed by 2028. The existing school building remains in operation until the new building has been completed. The demolition of the old OGS building is necessary to make room for the new upper level building. The existing Sports hall remains in existence and will continue to be used. Only after the new building commissioned can the existing building be demolished.
