Description:
At the Hohen Wangelin site, the MV State Research Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries operates a pilot plant to develop commercial zander production. The aim of the project is to establish commercial zander aquaculture in location-independent rearing systems in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The establishment of pikeperch in aquaculture requires a year-round supply of larvae or fingerlings, which requires egg collection outside of the pikeperch's natural spawning season in spring. Extra-seasonal reproduction and rearing is controlled through targeted controlg of environmental factors, including water temperature. By simulating spring, the development of embryogenesis is controlled and, after hatching, the water temperature for rearing the larvae and juvenile fish is controlled. The cooling technology used so far is due to high wearss and multiple repairs have come to a standstill and urgently needs to be replaced. There is also an amendment to the use of certain refrigerants, which will be banned from use in the future for reasons of sustainability. For this reason the equipment is the Kreislausystems with alternative and environmentally friendly heating and cooling units are absolutely necessary.
