Background:
By 2030, Fraport AG will reduce CO2 emissions at the Frankfurt site to 75,000 tons per year; by 2045, CO2 emissions should drop to zero. Against this background, Fraport AG intends to plan at its own site on the open spaces along Runway 18 Westng and installation of a vertical PV park on an area of approx. 26 hectares. To ensure a highly efficient PV system and the resulting maximization of electricity yield, the following quality features must be guaranteed:

• No influence on precipitation distribution
• Little influence on vegetation
• Little shading of the subsoil
• EPC performance up to the transfer point at the medium voltage
• Start of construction: Q4/2023
Modules
• Frameless bifacial glass-glass -Modules with IEC61215 certification
• High efficiencynth monocrystalline bifacial PV modules
(module efficiency 20%)
• Bifaciality at least 90% with max. 3% tolerance
• No shading of the cell backs, e. B. permitted by product labeling, junction box or other components with right-angled irradiation
