EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG operates several offshore wind farms in the German North Sea, including the Hohe See, Albatros, He Dreiht projects and the Dreekant wind farm, which is currently under development.
EnBW maintains one for the operation of existing and future wind farms Service station in the immediate vicinity of Emden airfield. This includes office and social rooms as well as a warehouse for spare parts and tools. The service concept is based on a sea-based approach using one or more Service Operation Vessel(s) (SOV) as the central platform for Maintenance and logistics. The SOV has hotel capacity for up to 40 service technicians, a spare parts warehouse and a walk-to-work system for access to the offshore structures. It usually stays in the wind farms for several weeks and arrives at the port of Emden every four weeks. In addition, helicopters are used for crew changes and quick deployments as well as, if necessary, Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV) for the transport of people from Emden. To supply the substation platforms with fresh water, fuel, oil, spare parts and to dispose of waste As a rule, a supply ship is deployed every month.
The main maintenance of the substations, foundations and inner park cabling is carried out by the client.
