Description: The current underground network of the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG) is controlled by 15 interlockings (3 electronic interlockings (ESTW), 12 relay interlockings (RSTW)). These are controlled by a control system from Thales (Command 900) from the operations center (BZ) of the MVG.
Due to the age of the system and the planned future expansion with an ATC automation system with a communication-based train control system (CBTC), the existing interlocking technology is to be successively renewed. In addition, additional signal boxes are to be procured.
In the first step, the RSTWs at Münchner Freiheit, Implerstraße and Großhadern (including the extension to Martinsried) are each to be replaced by an ESTW and another ESTW is to be procured for the new depot south (in Neuperlach).
