• Planning services for buildings and open spaces in Heidelberg Negotiation process with participation competition - Award No. HD_65_2026_001 Conversion and expansion of the cafeteria Albert Schweitzer School and Stauffenberg School The Albert Schweitzer School (ASS) and the Stauffenbergschule (SBS) form a school campus with a shared school yard, two sports halls and, in the future, a modern cafeteria solution. The Albert Schweitzer School is a two-class district primary school with around 240 students with a modular booking option municipal care provision. The Stauffenberg School is a special education and counseling center with a focus on language with around 150 students. Both schools are located on a shared plot of land in the Heidelberg district Pfaffengrund. The planned construction project involves converting the former volunteer fire department and the teaching kitchen of the Albert Schweitzer School into a cafeteria with a warm-up kitchen. The cafeteria will have two separate dining rooms for the Schools are designed that are served by a common warming kitchen with storage and staff area. The warm-up kitchen should be able to be upgraded to a cook & chill kitchen. In addition, there is a common sanitary area and a common Foyer as a distributor and lock with hand basin. The dining rooms should not be provided with pure canteen seating, but should offer a higher quality of stay as a "student restaurant" (ASS) or as a "family dining room" (SBS). The draft of the Dining rooms (interior planning service LPH 3) are paid for as a special service. Due to the existing ceiling heights, it was decided that the technology would be installed visibly under the ceiling. Ventilation takes place through textile hoses. The necessary technology is planned in the basement under the kitchen area. The uninsulated existing building of the former vehicle hall is being renovated to make it more energy efficient.
