Reconstruction and expansion of the Westpfalz Clinic at the Kirchheimbolanden location
The oldest part of the complex is bed block 5 and the one to the north connected treatment building (outpatient clinics + operating room) from the mid-1950s. In the 1990s, extensions to the operating room department, the entrance area with cafeteria/staff catering and the intensive care department followed. From 2000 onwards, extensions were built to the delivery room, followed by the outpatient one Surgical center and the new chief physician's area in 2011. The last building block to be built was the 4-story MVZ, directly connected to the emergency room. There are residential areas to the south, east and north, while to the west there are no buildings in the immediate vicinity, just green meadows and fields leading upslope to wooded areas. As part of the planned measure, the hospital will receive a new building on the eastern side of the clinic, as well as an extension in a north-eastern part of the building.
