• Description:
• The city of Luckenwalde intends to redesign the open spaces and traffic areas in the "Auf dem Sande" settlement, a listed ensemble of 1920s workers' settlements in the southwest of the city. The settlement is considered outstanding example of reform housing construction and is based on the ideal of the garden city. The aim of the project is to restore the historical character of the settlement, taking into account today's usage requirements, in particular through the Upgrading public spaces, sustainable rainwater management and energy-efficient street lighting. The planning area is divided into three objects: Object 1 includes the forecourt and the development of the former city swimming pool, object 2 the central public spaces of the settlement including the street "Auf dem Sande" and the squares at the Torbogenhaus and L-Haus, object 3 the urban reorganization of an area on the edge of the settlement. The total cost framework is 5.2 million euros gross. Implementation will probably take place until 2034.
