Description: A so-called Remote Tower Center (RTC) is to be built at the Braunschweig site, which will initially cover the control of the Lower Saxony airfields Braunschweig and Emden. In the future, airfields in northern Germany are to be integrated. This is based on grants from the state of Lower Saxony as part of the funding program for digitization in transport, in particular to increase safety and efficiency in transport and to expand the competitiveness of the mobility industry through digital innovations. The procurement of the necessary technical infrastructure by the airport operator for the construction and operation of an RTC is eligible for funding.
The subject of the tender is the construction and operation of the RTC by a suitable air navigation service provider in order to control the Braunschweig and Emden airports. The start of the contract is planned for January 2022, the contract term is 10 years.
