Description:
The Marta Herford was built according to plans by Frank Gehry and opened in 2005 as an internationally oriented museum for contemporary art, architecture and design. The owner and operator is Marta Herford gGmbH. The focus of the house is exhibitions and educationents. In addition to the unique architecture by Frank Gehry, this special building also consists of an integrated older administration building, the so-called Lippold Building. In order to preserve this ensemble in the long term, measures to secure substance are required in various areas. Added to this is the adjustmentadapting the building technology to modern standards as well as increased attention to the topics of energy efficiency, sustainability, flood protection and accessibility.
To implement these measures, Marta Herford gGmbH receives funding from the federal government and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia within the framework of the Federal Fundfunding program "Investments for national cultural institutions in Germany" (INK).e) in accordance with Section 53 Paragraph 2 No. 3 HOAI.
