With the Construction of the Radolfzell-Konstanz and Radolfzell quantities in 1860-1873, the Mettnau peninsula was separated from the urban area. Since then, bridge constructions have ultimately been replaced in 1998 by the completion of the north bridge, the Guenter-Neurohr Bridge.
This also made the Traffic situation noticeably relieved.
This was also taken into account when planning the bridge.
For this, the middle part of the superstructure, between the two DB routes, was lowered, so that later and access ramps may can be connected to the site.
With the lower lowering, the bridge superstructure has received its "spatial" shape.
