- The Salzgitterkai is located at Hamburg's Sandauhafen in Hamburg-Altenwerder on the west side of the Suederelbe. The Salzgitterkai is one of the berths with the most ship movements per year in the Port of Hamburg and also has the deepest berth with a target depth of -17.04 mNHN. The quay wall is currently part of Hansaport's handling operations. Over a length of approx. 750 m, bulk goods such as iron ore and coal are transferred to and from seagoing vessels with the help of four unloading bridges.
