New construction of the Herbrum lock
The WSA EMS-Nordsee is currently preparing to replace the Herbrum lock.
It is the northern Input lock to the Dortmund-Ems Canal (DEK). The lock group consists of the already disused eastern chamber and the still in operation standing western chamber. For this western chamber, the expected remaining useful life is up to 15 years.
In order to ensure access to the DEK in the long term, the replacement of the Herbrum lock is to be implemented in the next few years.
The WSA Ems-Nordsee is involved in realizing the new lock new building the application of the Wasserstrasse (PMW) partnership model (PMW) new ways.
In the PMW, planning engineers, construction workers and clients/client work from the start collaborative for the joint project success.
The basis is a multi -party contract (MPV)
