- Description:
- Since 2011, European experts have been working on the harmonization initiative to standardize the health assessment of emissions from construction products across Europe using EU-LCI values (LCI: Lowest Concentration of Interest). This working group (EU-LCI AG) has compiled a comprehensive list of 185 emission-relevant substances, outlined the procedure for deriving EU-LCI values and published harmonized EU-LCI values (see ECA Report No. 29 and the EU-LCI AG website at https://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/construction/eu-lci_en). From the outset, the same national LCI values from Germany and France were adopted as EU-LCI values for around 60 substances and referred to as 'ascribed EU-LCI'. For these substances the EU LCI must be met Values are revised and re-derived according to the EU-LCI derivation procedure. As an essential feature in connection with the release of dangerous substances, the EU LCI list is part of the harmonized construction product standards under the EU Construction Products Regulation (Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011). The substance reports developed in this project are needed to finalize the EU-LCI list and the associated EU-LCI values. As part of this report, the following substances should be: Basic toxicological data is researched and compiled: - 1-Hexanol (CAS 111-27-3), - 2-methoxy-1-propanol (CAS 1589-47-5), - 2-Methoxy-1-propylacetate (CAS 70657-70-4) and - Hexanediol diacrylate (CAS 13048-33-4). Based on the researched data EU-LCI values for these substances should then be proposed. The toxicological data and the derivation of the EU-LCI values should be summarized in tabular form in English. The further technical details are: Please refer to the service description.
