- Incorporation monitoring serves to quantify the intake of radioactive substances into the body and the resulting body dose for persons who are occupationally exposed by handling unsealed radioactive substances. Various methods are used for this: ? To youect measurements with whole and partial body counters ? Elimination analysis of urine or stool with subsequent measurement of alpha, beta or photon radiation? Measurements of the activity concentration of the room air at the workplace (room air monitoring) In nuclear medicine therapy, in the lastIn recent years, short-lived radionuclides, which are at the top of a decay chain with multiple alpha decays, have become and continue to be of great importance. These radionuclides include Ra-223, Th-227 and Ac-225. They are used in particular in radiopharmaceuticals that are targeted to tumor tissue and metasbind tasen, used (targeted alpha therapy, targeted alpha therapy). These radionuclides pose special challenges to the incorporation monitoring of the people who handle them during production and clinical application: Due to their short half-life, frequentsome measurements required.
