Description: Due to the status-based and predictive maintenance, rail freight transport (SGV) is expected to save around 20% of the maintenance costs. Condition Monitoring (CM) is the necessary basis for condition-oriented and predictive maintenance. The equipment with the digital automatic clutch (DAK) associated equipment of freight trains with electricity and data lines in conjunction with cost-effective sensors on the market promotes the increasingly economical introduction of CM systems in freight traffic. However, scientific investigations and market mature CM systems are largely focused on monitoring individual state variables of vehicles. Collective coordinated equipment concepts of freight cars, which take into account selected damage scenarios and avoid unwanted redundancies, are not sufficiently investigated.
