• Property planning for buildings and property planning for open spaces The university town of Siegen is planning to build the new “Bluebox” children-s and youth leisure facility in an exposed, inner-city location. While maintaining today's use, open children's and Youth care, a modern and future-oriented facility is to be created. The new building should correspond and position itself with the surroundings. The integration with the immediately adjacent green area “Bertramsplatz” is of great importance. The Bluebox opened in April 2004. A report on the condition of the building from 2022 showed that the outer shell and the structural system in particular now have significant defects. This creates a planning requirement for a replacement new building current location triggered. According to the report, renovating the building does not make sense and is therefore excluded.
