- Retrofit rectifier substation in the middle Retrofit rectifier substation (GUW) center The GUW Mitte, built in 2006, is currently equipped with the AEG A250 programmable logic controller for field and station control technology. The manufacturer has these Hardware components discontinued. Due to the continuous operation of more than 175,000 hours and increasing failures of the field and station control technology as well as the route protection, protection and control functions are no longer permanently intact and should be after the current state of the art technology. The GUW Mitte was equipped by the Balfour Beatty company. The AEG A120 programmable logic controller was used in the above-mentioned GUW within the section fields of the direct voltage systems and thus functions for system protection and control functions are implemented. Furthermore, data from the medium-voltage systems is communicated to the station control technology. This field data is transferred to a so-called master PLC (ZSPS, AEG A250), processed and visualized on site using an industrial PC.
