Description:
With its accredited test laboratory, the BSH is checking ship equipment (e.g. navigation equipment, radio equipment) using current standards and test methods. It also carries out national approvals. Today's ship bridges are equipped with a variety of different devices including periphery that communicate with each other and exchange information, which makes the exam increasingly complex and difficult. It can be assumed that, in the next few years, data -driven applications will push in the martitime market. In particular, Deep Learning (DL), as a sub -area of artificial intelligence, enables completely new applications that would not be possible with a cockwork software implementation and promise additional benefits. Such systems have the potential to sustainably improve safety in sea shipping and pave important milestones on the way to the highly automated or autonomous ship.
