Description:
In the open -air area around the German Museum, the Isarau nature reserve belongs. In this area, the Seenotrefungskreuzer Theodor Heuss, built in 1960, which was handed over to the German Museum as an exhibit on the documentation of shipping history in 1987. The ship is 23.2 m long and measures 5.3 m. The property is accessible to visitors as part of guided tours.
The current outer paint comes from 2001.
The current coat of paint is 24 years old and was weathered throughout. In order to be able to maintain the historical object when weathering, the object must be cleaned, loose lacquer layers must be removed and a closed layer of paint is made again. In addition to the color, nothing can be changed on the substance of the object.
The painting work can take place from May 19, 2025. The contractor has to coordinate with the client. Completion by October 31, 2025 at the latest.
