The occasion of the competition is the upcoming new development of the Victoriacarre (Vika) as a further inner -city location of the University of Bonn. The University of Bonn is a campus university and is spread over several camps in the entire city. It is planned on the Victoriacarree the establishment of a new library building, the accommodation of the cultural forum and additional side functions such as a bicycle garage and a gastronomic unit. The area Victoriacarree is located in downtown Bonn directly opposite the east wing of the main building of the university Bonn and thus in a prominent location.
