- RING30 - Construction of a substitute fuel cogeneration plant (EBS-HKW) The client is SachsenEnergie AG, the largest municipal energy supplier in East Saxony. SachsenEnergie AG supplies over 7,500 properties in the region via its 600 km long district heating network Dresden city area with over 130,000 heating customers. As part of the overall “RING30” project, a highly efficient and highly available substitute fuel cogeneration plant (“EBS-HKW”) with a total capacity of around 145,000 is to be built at the Hammerweg 23 location in Dresden tons per year for the thermal utilization of untreated municipal waste, bulky waste and substitute fuel and will go into regular operation by 2030 at the latest. This is a KRITIS system in which only non-hazardous Waste is thermally recycled. The system is to be designed for a combustion output of around 54 MWth FWL. The district heating extraction is intended to increase the absorption capacity of the central district heating network of the city of Dresden of approx. 50 MWth, which is available at the location all year round use as fully as possible. A CHP process with an extraction back-pressure turbine is planned. The system will be an integral part of SachsenEnergie AG's system park of generation and heat storage systems connected to the central district heating network operated together with them in association.
