- General building description 1.0 General object of the planning is the monument -friendly renovation and modernization, as well as the conversion of the Kornhaus in Kirchheim Unter Teck. The building is a large, elongated, four-storey solid building from 1540-53 The city fire in 1690 was completely burned out the grain house inside. It was repaired again in 1696. A multi -storey self -striking wooden structure was implanted in the massive building envelope that stopped. The Kornhaus is completely lower cellar. The basement is To a vaulted cellar impressive in its dimension and proportion. Im Laufe seiner langen Geschichte diente das Gebaude dem Hause Wuerttemberg als Kornhaus und ab 1851 der Stadt Kirchheim unter Teck als Kornmarkt, Turnhalle, Lager, Feuerwehrmagzin und zuletzt ausschliesslich kulturellen Zwecken. The ground floor was used as an alternating exhibition space for contemporary art. The upper floors housed the city museum. In addition to the Martinskirche and the castle, it is the largest and therefore most significant construction volume in the center of the city.
