- The Water Framework Directive and the Surface Water Ordinance (OGewV) prescribe a regular assessment of the status of surface waters based on biological quality components (BQK). This tender provides for corresponding studies for the BQK macrozoobenthos (MZB). In theIn 2024, all surface water bodies nationwide that were not resampled in 2023 will be examined for macrozoobenthos at the measuring points representative of the water bodies. The data is collected using the WFD-compliant PERLODES methodology, which provides an ecological statusds evaluation includes. Due to the methodologically defined time frame, the investigation takes place from the spring months until early summer. The investigations are divided into 10 lots. The investigations into all lots serve as a basis for current and future managementgs and action planning by the water management administration of Rhineland-Palatinate to maintain or restore the good ecological water condition.
