  • On August 11, 2020, UniBw M founded the "Center for Digitalization and Technology Research of the Bundeswehr" (dtec.bw for short). dtec.bw is part of the federal government's economic stimulus program to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and is operated by the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) with Fresearch funds from the economic stimulus program. With its inclusion in the German Recovery and Resilience Plan (DARP), dtec.bw is financed by the European Union - NextGenerationEU. The research project "Seamless Radio Access Networks for Internet of Space" (SeRANIS) was funded by the BMVg gapproved and should now be implemented. As part of SeRANIS, an experimental satellite (Athene-1) is to be built in LEO. The SeRANIS project is funded by dtec.bw. For the SeRANIS project, UniBw M intends to provide software development services for the Athene-1 mission.
